More typical BS from this regime. Making up rules as we go.

crashtestdummy, did you just call him dumb for asking a good question? your name should be crashtestdumb*ss instead.
There is nothing in the rules about bicycles. Is it safer to not have the bicycles running araound, probably. But there are a lot of things that would be safer if we did them different.
Hell, look at the ATV rules. These are constantly violated rules, and those rules are for safety and for insurance. Thanks to some careless person who failed to take responsibility for themselves, sued the track for $1,000,000...the tracks insurance paid them off $1,000,000. Now our insurance has doubled.
Did we learn anything form this lawsuit, nope.
See under Club Rules F, 6:
1) All pit vehicles to have insurance. Are these ATV's marked with a safety sticker so everyone knows what ones have insurance and what ones don't?
6) no one under 16 years old will operate the ATV. I see this broken multiple times per night.
7) No riders. This is broken by 50% of the ATV's. I seen a board member riding a passenger and the driver with a beer in his hand. Good example set. I seen them everynight at the drivers meeting with 2, 3 or 4 hanging off the ATV. One board member pulls up in front of pit tower for driver meeting with a passenger.
8) after all races, ATV's to be put away. See number 6 above, There are 10+ ATV's cruisng around for an hour after the races.
Did we learn anything from this lawsuit? Nope.

LL47, "your new name should be crashtestdumb*ss"...that was pretty funny!
I was kidding about someone requiring the bikes be put away for safety. I'm sure it is someone on the board who doesn't like bikes, so they thought they had the power to force Brett to make that announcment.
So after this careless drunk injured themself, then sued the club for a cool million, obviously the board banned this group of kinfolk for life right?

So have we heard anything official on this bicycle issue? There is nothing in the rules about bikes. Why was the announcment made? Who ordered it? Did the board get together and vote on this as a safety issue? Cna any one give us more details?

My knowledge is that a request was made to have them parked after one was nearly hit by an ATV. It is a safety issue and I don't personally see a problem with that. The pits can quickly become crowded and no one wants to see anyone hurt. Not everything is a Big. Brother issue.

In most cases, vehicles are supposed to yield to pedestrians walking or on bikes. Why are we still catering to these ATV's in the pits? It quite obvious no lesson has been learned. Are we at some point not going to be allowed to walk through pits because someone almost got ran over by an ATV. Are we just waiting for an accident before we do anything? Oh wait, that already happened. Nothing has changed. This track makes great money by selling pit passes to more people becasu it is not that much more money than general admission. How much money is the track losing by not selling pit passes because people are tired of dodging these stupid *ss ATV's?

Better yet, whats going to happen when that board member hits someone while riding their atv in the pits right after the races while holding a beer in one hand?

My knowledge is that a request was made to have them parked after one was nearly hit by an ATV. It is a safety issue and I don't personally see a problem with that. The pits can quickly become crowded and no one wants to see anyone hurt. Not everything is a Big. Brother issue. so an atv being ridden for something other than offical race use (copied from the rules: 5. All ATV’s will be used for race related activity only.) nearly hit a bike rider. Why? was the rider of the atv going too fast? (copied from the rules: 9. 10 MPH SPEED LIMIT!!). I seen several times this season where an atv almost hit a person walking in the pits. pretty sure the walker wasn't acting careless and even if they were I'm prettty sure that motorized vehicles gots to yield to walkers...kinda the rules of the road and off road. It surely wasn't in the infield where the "official race use" happens. It surely wasn't an atv towing or pushing a wrecked race car (official race use) since that is only 5mph or less when they are towing. crusing from trailer to trailer or from one side of the pits to the other is not offical race use. I can agree that bicycles could be dangerous and probably have no place in the pits. The board has the right to make new rules if it is a safety deal...did they get together as a board and have an offical little meeting about bikes before a new rule was announced? or did one person just decide? Did the rider of the atv have insurance? Who checked? How did you check to see if they have insurance? Was the atv rider negligint or careless in anyway, or was it 100% the kid ridin the bike? I don't really like bikes in the pits either but it is not agianst the rules. but the atv's are the ones breaking the rules because no one uses them for (copied from the rules: 5. All ATV’s will be used for race related activity only.) except the infield workes, safety crews, tow crews or anyone using one to push start a race car like a midget. Based on the stupid lawsuit, shouldn't we ban the atv's and alcahol drinking from the pits entirely even after the races. After the races is when this person got hurt. kids riding bikes is dangerous with the race cars zipping through the pits, the board should vote on the a new safety rule and put it in the rules.

OK...that still doens't change the other facts about atv abuse in the pits. Glad to know it was an atv being used for offical race use. Our track crew are good people, I know they were operating safely so it was obviously the kid riding the bikes fault. Still not agains the rules to ride bikes in the pits...even though it prob should be.
