Just a reminder that the January Club meeting will be held on January 26th. The board meeting will be from 11-1:00 and the club meeting will be start at 1:00. The meeting will take place at the Concordia Community Center at 802 S. Gordon St Concordia, MO 64020.
There were like 15 people at the December meeting when the club voted on officers. I think that most of you know that I heard my fair share of complaining about how things were ran in this club last year and then you only get less than 10% of the club membership to show up for a meeting. I can't/won't promise that things will change toward the direction that you want them to, but if the club members show up, then at least the chances for change are better. If you don't show up to ANY of the meetings, you really don't have a dog in the fight with your complaints. I know some people have to work and sometimes it just doesn't work out to attend, but let me ask you this...If it were a race, would you make time to attend?
I'm sure I will get beat up for what I said, but that's ok. I too would like to see some changes at the track, but can't do it alone.
Hope to see everyone next weekend!

Brett brings up a good point. There is lots of complaining from the pits, but nobody shows up.
Is it becasue we all like to arm chair quarterback? Is it becasue we are just unhappy people and like to be part of the bitching? Is it because it can be like a second job helping this track operate? The local members, who have the interest and a few minutes of free time, can run to the track and handle an issue much easier than someone an hour, or three hours away can. I have to tell you, for those long time members who have invested more hours in the facility than any of us can imagine, they probably deserve a little of the entitlement feeling of operating the track the way they want...hell, they do all the work, why not get some things their way. Is it because there are to many old timers still associated with the track and one or two new board members can't change "city hall"?
Is it because we are all high rollin' racers and shouldn't have to put in time or work to help the club..."i'm too busy flying around on my private jet, doing interviews and signin autographs to help with the track". A really famous SSMC Sportman class driver once said at a drivers meeting; "get a board member to do it". Is this a common feeling from the members that the board members get all the pay so they should do all the work? If it is, you might want to check "board member pay"...works out to be about $0.02/hour...
Give us your thoughts as to why many complain, but nobody shows up to make change. Give your opinion in general why nobody attends, or tell us why you specifically don't get involved. There are board members who might benefit from knowing WHY members don't attend.

As I have stated previously, it is far easier to complain that to actively participate. Most clubs operate in this fashSolion with only a tiny minority helping. Sad but true.

It is actually the opposite. It is far easier to complain than it is to participate with this group. I watched so many good people try to help out and be a positive influence only to be snubbed away. They don't want anyone in the group that is going to go against what they want. But, they will bitch when they have to do all the work, but they don't realize that they are pushing help away. This group ran by it current leader is a joke. What is going on with the last two races? Not that it effects me in anyway, but you here that they are not point races yet no where on that thing called the world wide web that it a awesome tool to communicate does it say anything about it. It p*ssed me off that this board creates a disconnect between the membership but bitches when no one wants to help. hmmmm.
