Dave If someone buys a car for 5k that has carbon fiber vs a new car for 10k that does not keep costs down in any way. If someone chooses to buy used equipment Vs new that would keep their cost down. If the carbon fiber was performance enhancing I could understand but it is not. In addition there are other car manufactures that may use carbon fiber or other materials and their client may choose to spend 3k to 15 k that is their choice. in additiion some people maybwantbto pay for service or do things themselves ect which again would save money.
What is the feedback on the rules from pmp beard factor 1hyper ect. I think all the manufactures should have input if you have that forgive me. In addition it seems this site would be limited to our more local area what is the feedback for other parts of the country.

I am going to have to agree with Trevor. I would like to see a panel of ALL of the manufacturers work on this project together. Otherwise it has no weight across the board. I would say include D1 too as they have a very creative new Jr Sprint design.
I appreciate your stance on the shocks and engine packages as those both make perfect sense. No cockpit adjustable shocks would be a great thing to make a rule on. That would be a safety issue in my opinion as the little ones making adjustments while driving is scary!!
Please clarify the "no adjustable wing sliders". All of the ones I have seen can be adjusted. I am assuming you mean cockpit adjustable but I think that needs some clarification so there is no grey area.
Please email me the rules in pdf format so I can look them over. I am having a hard time getting them off of here
Thanks

CARBON FIBER HAS NEVER EVER BEEN LEGAL !!! NEVER
NOT AT PORT CITY, NOT AT THE SHOOTOUT NOT ANY WHERE according to their own POSTED RULES...
Mike Right no cockpit adjustable just like the restrictors.. No electric wing sliders. If I put electric then someone will come up with hydraulic, or pneumatic. I will look at that.
Trevor The rules have been like they are since the 90's with very few tweeks. Some major builders cars were built illegal for years until we tweeked them in 2011.

www.tulsashootout.com/classes/default.aspxHere is the Link to the 2014 Tulsa Shootout Rules.. Carbon Fiber and Titanium are not on the approved parts list.. Look at how very close they are too ours.. The major difference is they allow altering your tires. (Doping) Dave

Dave This is it not a personal thing I was making reference that carbon fiber should not be illegal due to cost reduction

Trevor, I know it's not personal. I am not taking it as such.. What I dont understand is it is not legal, never has been in posted rules around the midwest. If it was on a car they should have been disqualified per their rules. I have left the "for cost reduction" off the updated rules. These are a guideline for many tracks. Feel free to bring up changes to the local tracks. I am sure some tracks will change some rules, some will not.. We are trying to get a big money race or two together next year and these will be the rules.
This is a beginner class with beginner kids. Let the kids have some fun before they go blood and guts racing. Keep in mind too most tracks let you move up at age 9 or 10, so if a Jr Sprint isnt a challenge then move up. Lets keep it fun for the younger kids.
